FAQ
About the Products
Q1: What exactly is polymer clay?Â
A: Polymer clay is a type of sculpting material (not a true clay) made from a plastic polymer, resin, and coloring agents. It remains soft until cured, usually by baking it in a conventional oven. Once cured, it becomes a durable, lightweight, and slightly flexible plastic material.
Q2: Are your accessories truly handmade?Â
A: Yes! Every piece of jewelry and every charm on our site is 100% handmade by me. This means no molds (unless stated for a base shape like a cookie cutter), and every detail is carefully hand-sculpted, painted, and assembled.
Q3: How durable are the polymer clay accessories?Â
A: Polymer clay is surprisingly durable and shatter-resistantonce baked and properly cured. While it can withstand normal wear and tear, it is not unbreakable. We seal most pieces with a protective varnish for added resilience. Please avoid bending the pieces, as thin parts can break if excessive force is applied.
Q4: Are your earrings heavy?Â
A: No, one of the best qualities of polymer clay is that it is extremely lightweight. Even our largest stud earrings or dangles are comfortable enough to wear all day without pulling on your ears.
Care and Maintenance
Q5: How should I clean my polymer clay jewelry?Â
A: To clean your items, simply use a soft, damp cloth or a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol (for tough spots). Avoid harsh chemicals like acetone or nail polish remover, as these can damage the clay or the protective glaze.
Q6: What should I avoid doing with my polymer clay items?Â
A:Â To keep your accessories looking their best, we recommend that you:
- Avoid prolonged exposure to water (e.g., do not wear while swimming or showering).
- Avoid storing them in direct sunlight or excessive heat.
- Do not use harsh chemical cleaners or solvents.
- Do not drop or toss them onto hard surfaces.
Q7: Are your earring posts hypoallergenic?Â
A: Yes, all of our earring posts, hooks, and hardware are made from hypoallergenic stainless steel with has gold or silver plate. There might sometimes different materials used but they are still hypoallergenic to you to ensure comfort and minimize the risk of irritation, making them safe for sensitive ears.
